The Glen Grant Unveils the Splendours Collection with a Remarkable 65-Year-Old Whisky
The Glen Grant distillery has launched the Splendours Collection—an exquisite selection featuring some of the rarest whiskies maturing in its storied warehouses.
This collection of highly limited releases will be unveiled over the coming years, beginning with an extraordinary 65-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1958 and aged to perfection for more than six decades.
The 65-Year-Old: A Whisky of Timeless Elegance
Distilled in Scotland in 1958, the 65-Year-Old is the first whisky to debut in the Splendours Collection, a testament to The Glen Grant’s commitment to excellence. To honour this milestone, only 151 handcrafted decanters have been created, each an artistic masterpiece designed by John Galvin and Glasstorm. Inspired by the natural elegance of The Glen Grant’s Garden of Splendours, the decanter takes the form of a Mobius strip seed pod—a continuous, flowing loop symbolising nature’s eternal cycle.
The design also pays homage to the Himalayan Blue Poppy, one of the rarest flowers on Earth and a symbol of The Glen Grant’s enduring pursuit of perfection. Intricately engraved on the decanter and crafted from wood species still thriving in the distillery’s gardens today, the vessel merges nature’s beauty with the distillery’s innovative spirit.
A Whisky Decades in the Making
The Glen Grant 65-Year-Old reflects a lifetime of dedication to the art of whisky-making. Distilled in the distillery’s slender coal-fired pot stills, the whisky was matured in a single French oak butt housed in Warehouse No.4—the oldest stone dunnage warehouse on the estate. Carefully extracted in 2025, this rare expression embodies a depth of character and complexity only achievable through patient aging.
Greig Stables, Master Distiller at The Glen Grant, remarked:
“The true scarcity of this spirit at 65 Years Old is testament to the unwavering approach to whisky making and visionary innovation which has defined The Glen Grant. Although distilled back in 1958, the methods remain almost entirely the same today, reflecting the legacy of our forefathers. This whisky captures a lifetime of flavour and character from its journey in a single French oak butt, retaining the distinct and singular character of The Glen Grant.”
The Glen Grant continues to solidify its reputation for crafting ultra-luxury whiskies, following its acclaimed releases such as the Devotion 70-Year-Old, created in collaboration with artist John Galvin, and The Visionary One of One, a 68-Year-Old expression designed for the prestigious Distillers’ One of One auction.

The Glen Grant x Random International: “Seasons” in Hong Kong
To commemorate the launch of this exceptional whisky, The Glen Grant has partnered with the acclaimed post-digital art group Random International to present “Seasons”, a live performance painting experience set to debut during Art Week in Hong Kong. This immersive event explores the cyclical nature of time and transformation, mirroring the maturation journey of The Glen Grant’s whisky.
A Fusion of Art and Whisky
“Seasons” is a custom iteration of Random International’s Pixelography series, making its debut in the Asian art scene. This innovative process transforms digital source data into hand-painted masterpieces, redefining the intersection between the digital and the physical. The performance will produce 65 bespoke artworks, symbolising the whisky’s six-and-a-half-decade journey and the passage of the seasons.
Public Exhibition at The Upper House Hong Kong
The live artistic performance and exhibition will take place at The Upper House Hong Kong as part of Swire Properties Arts Month on March 27-28, 2025, from 12-3 pm HKT. Guests will witness the creative process unfold while indulging in The Glen Grant whisky, immersing themselves in a multi-sensory experience inspired by the Splendours Collection.
Hannes Koch, co-founder of Random International, shared his thoughts on the collaboration:
“Our bespoke Pixelography performance ‘Seasons’ is an artistic response to The Glen Grant’s celebration of cyclical change in The Garden of Splendours. The decades it took to craft and perfect the 65-Year-Old whisky inspired our creation of the custom source imagery for ‘Seasons’; and this theme is also embodied in the Pixelography process itself—wrestling unlimited, intangible, digital imagery back into the finite, material world through the very act of painting.”
