The Glenlivet Release 74-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky
Gordon & MacPhail, a renowned Scotch whisky brand with a legacy dating back to 1895, has recently unveiled a true gem for whisky connoisseurs and collectors alike.
In a tribute to time, craftsmanship, and the art of maturation, they have introduced the Gordon & MacPhail 1949 from the Glenlivet Distillery.
The Essence of Time in a Bottle
This exceptional single malt whisky, laid down in a refill Sherry butt on New Year’s Day 1949, has journeyed through history, capturing the essence of every passing year. It was finally bottled on March 6th this year, making it a remarkable 74-year-old expression.
A Symphony of Flavours
As enthusiasts prepare to savour this masterpiece, they can expect an extraordinary sensory experience. The Gordon & MacPhail 1949 boasts enticing aromas of stewed fruit intermingling with hints of cinnamon, aged leather, and clementine.
With an ABV of 49.3%, it offers a rich and complex palate. Autumnal spices and fruitcake dance alongside cracked pepper, with delicate undertones of garden mint, dark treacle, and charred oak.
A Rare Find
Only 192 bottles of this precious elixir have been made available to the public, each priced at a staggering £35,000 (approximately US$43,000). This release is not only a testament to the art of whisky crafting but also a tribute to the Glenlivet Distillery, as it represents the final 1949 cask from this historic establishment.
