Ultra-Rare Whisky To Go To Auction In October 2023: Estimates Range From £5,000 to £500,000
The Distillers One of One ultra-rare whisky auction will feature once in a lifetime opportunities for whisky collectors to pick up incredibly rare whisky bottles.
On the 5th of October 2023, whisky enthusiasts of the world will gather to bid in the auction at Hopetoun House, near Edinburgh.
The previous auction was two years ago in 2021 and raised £2.4 million for the Distillers’ Charity.
Fine Whiskies Up For Auction
Distillers One of One will auction some of the finest whiskies in the world. With 35 companies from the Scotch Whisky industry participating, a total of 40 lots, each one a distinct one-off masterpiece, will be open for bids.
The estimates for these exceptional lots range from an impressive £5,000 to upwards of an astonishing £500,000.
The Distillers’ Charity
The Distillers One of One auction goes beyond celebrating the finest whiskies; it’s also an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others through the Distillers’ Charity.
Nearly 500 disadvantaged young people in Scotland have benefited from the last auction in 2021. A £2.4 million fund was generated through the sale of these rare bottles donated by distilleries. The charity helps develop confidence, resilience and skills for young Scottish people.
The Scotch whisky industry is adamant to give back to the country that has given so much to international success.

A Collection of Stunning Whiskies
There will be some truly exceptional gems at the Distillers at One auction.
- The Bowmore STAC, expected to be one of the most fiercely contested items at the auction, has an estimated price of £300,000 to £500,000. Boasting an age of 55 years, STAC is the oldest whisky ever released by the renowned Islay distillery. Connoisseurs can expect a journey of unparalleled flavours, as it was distilled in 1962 and matured in a refill American oak hogshead.
- The Glenturret Enduring Spirit, a set of four bespoke Lalique decanters filled with four unique whiskies, each representing significant moments in The Glenturret’s 260-year old history. With an estimated value of £40,000 to £80,000, this lot also includes an exclusive invite to visit The Glenturret distillery and a Michelin-starred meal at the Glenturret Lalique Restaurant.
- The Visionary by The Glen Grant, presented in a hand-blown battuto-cut magnum decanter, is another exquisite offering estimated to be worth £50,000 to £90,000. This 68-year-old single malt Scotch whisky ranks among the oldest ever released by the distillery, making it a true rarity.
- The Glenglassaugh, Coalescence of the Coast, Aged 55 Years, one of the Highlands’ most iconic distilleries has contributed this exceptional whisky. This one-of-a-kind bottle, crafted by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, showcases whisky at its peak, expertly combined from rare individual casks filled in 1963, 1965, and 1967. With an estimated value of £15,000 to £24,000, this masterpiece represents the epitome of Highland craftsmanship.
