Scotch Whisky Industry Rallies for 2025 Distillers One of One Charity Auction

In an extraordinary display of unity, artistry, and generosity, Scotland’s whisky industry is once again joining forces to champion youth empowerment through the third edition of the Distillers One of One® Charity Auction

Taking place on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at the historic Hopetoun House near Edinburgh, this year’s event promises to set new records—not only in rarity and craftsmanship but also in philanthropic impact.

A Unique Spirit of Giving

Partnering with Sotheby’s, the 2025 Distillers One of One will present 40 never-to-be-repeated auction lots from 36 Scotch whisky producers—each a one-of-a-kind masterpiece crafted specifically for this occasion. With 100% of the hammer price going directly to charity, the initiative has already raised £4.3 million ($5.25 million) since its inception in 2021.

These funds primarily support the Youth Action Fund, which is transforming the lives of disadvantaged young people across Scotland. Since 2022, over 3,300 youth have been engaged, with nearly 2,300 achieving meaningful employability outcomes. Thousands more have made significant progress in wellbeing, skills development, and confidence-building.

Beanie Espey-Geraedts, Managing Director of Distillers One of One, commented:

“2025 has already presented its fair share of challenges. We’re deeply thankful to our donor brands and sponsors for uniting once again. Each lot this year not only embodies whisky excellence but also a heartfelt commitment to changing young lives.”

One of the Most Unique Collections of Whisky at Auction

Sotheby’s Global Head of Spirits, Jonny Fowle, echoed the sentiment:

Distillers One of One sits at the apex of whisky, art, and luxury. These aren’t just bottles—they’re works of cultural expression, infused with history and imagination.”

Here’s a look at just a few of the standout lots that define this year’s landmark auction:

Port Ellen: 200th Anniversary

To celebrate Port Ellen’s 200th anniversary, Diageo presents a bespoke whisky encased in a sculptural glass artwork inspired by the “Atlas of Smoke” project. Along with this rare spirit, the winning bidder will enjoy an exclusive four-person tour of the legendary Islay distillery.

The Glen Grant Eternal

From Campari Group comes the oldest whisky in the auction—a 77-Year-Old Glen Grant matured in a single sherry-seasoned cask since 1948. The liquid is presented in a handblown magnum decanter resembling a seed pod emerging from silver vines—symbolising time’s transformative power.

Estimate: £70,000–£120,000

The Glenlivet SPIRA

Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers unveil The Glenlivet SPIRA, a 60-Year-Old Single Malt housed in a decanter that echoes the fluid motion of vapours and rivers—reflections of the distillery’s signature grace.

Estimate: £60,000–£110,000

Aberlour’s “Mouth of the Chattering Burn”

Aged 53 years and housed in a one-of-a-kind decanter, Aberlour’s oldest release ever is a poetic tribute to its Gaelic roots.

A world-first experience combining Savile Row tailoring with bespoke whisky blending. The successful bidder will receive a hand-cut cashmere jacket and six custom bottles made with ultra-rare malts aged up to 60 years.

Backed by Passion and Prestige

The auction is proudly supported by headline sponsor W1M, with continued backing from Glencairn Crystal, McLaren Packaging, Simpsons Malt, and Forsyths, along with new sponsors such as Hamilton & Inches, The Luminaire, Berry Bros & Rudd, and Whisky Magazine.

As the Distillers One of One continues to set the standard for whisky philanthropy, the 2025 edition stands as a compelling reminder of what’s possible when tradition, creativity, and compassion converge.

Mark your calendars: October 10, 2025, Hopetoun House.
